The Mexican band Café Tacuba, one of the leaders of the Latino movement of rock in Spanish, is also known for its support of social and environmental causes. Rubén, owner of the exceptional voice in a group that tends to surprise audiences with its musical arrangements, spoke with Tierramérica.

1 Do you think the lack of a widespread environmental culture points to a scenario of ecological crisis in the future?

-Yes, in fact we are already living an ecological crisis due to the lack of an environmental culture and coexistence.

2 What would allow us to develop awareness about taking care of our natural resources?

-Education with a sense of respect for and acceptance of all forms of life.

3 What price is the earth paying for our lack of ecological education?

-Life itself.

4 Do you think the trends of environmental deterioration can still be reversed?

-Some of them, yes, but the important thing is to recover what we are losing, now!

5 What would you consider a practical measure towards protecting the forests?

-Implement a culture of recycling.
